Nexstar Broadcasting, owners of WROC and FOX Rochester, was the official television media sponsor for the 2007-2008 Special Olympic New York Fall and Winter Games in Rochester .  In addition to covering these fun-filled events on the news programs News 8 Now and FOX First at Ten , Rochester viewers often see the station's personalities pitching in at various Special Olympics Genesee Region events as event emcees, fundraisers and cheerleaders.  This year, chief meteorologist Scott Hetsko went head to head in competition with local radio personalities from the WBEE Morning Coffee Club in raising funds for the "Freezin' for a Reason Weekend" Polar Plunge.  As the group's top fundraiser with $1,000 Scott was saved from taking the plunge, but was thrilled to add his donations to a grand total raised of more than $193,000+, far exceeding the original goal for the event.  WROC and FOX Rochester have been honored to be able to support the SONY mission in the Genesee Region on their two channels, together the most watched in the Rochester region!

The New York State Correctional Officers Police Benevolent Association has been a long time supporter of Special Olympics New York and the Law Enforcement Torch Run.  NYSCOPBA, Inc.  formed in 1998, is the union representing over 23,000 New York State employees in the security services unit.   NYSCOPBA members are active volunteers throughout the state for both games and fundraising initiatives.  Hundreds of corrections officers take part in Torch Runs, Polar Plunges, raffles, and other initiatives each year raising money and awareness for our athletes.
Proctor & Gamble (P&G) -Each January for the past 28 years, Special Olympics has joined forces with Proctor & Gamble to drive sales for P&G brands to benefit Special Olympics. Special Olympics calls on supermarkets across the United States gaining incremental shelf space and displays for P&G. In total, P&G will donate more than $500,000 to Special Olympics, the longest continuous running promotion for the movement worldwide. A P&G study rated Special Olympics "Number One" among their consumers when compared to other national and international charities.
