Thank You to Our Sponsors

Special Olympics New York is honored to recognize our sponsors.

Thank you for believing in our organization and for helping make dreams come true for the athletes
of Special Olympics New York.

Statewide Sponsors
Since 2000, the New York Lottery has served as a Special Olympics New York Statewide Corporate Sponsor. The relationship is so intertwined that all of the New York Lottery's on-air “personalities” have become the faces of Special Olympics at the State Summer, Winter and Fall Games and other events. The New York Lottery serves as the Presenting Sponsor for the Million Dollar Duck event, held annually in NYC and is involved in Polar Plunges, Miles for Medals Walks and Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraisers.

Special Olympics New York

NYSUT; A Union of Professionals is a Founding Sponsor of Special Olympics New York. Through their many years of service, NYSUT has been one of the organization's strongest supporters, including direct sponsorship and invaluable in-kind support through use of conference space, printing and consulting services. NYSUT organizes an annual “Sponsor an Athlete” program for its members and has raised thousands of dollars to support the Special Olympics movement. NYSUT Assistant to the President, Anthony Bifaro, serves as Past Chair of the Special Olympics Board of Directors. NYSUT has had many employees serve on the Board over the years, including current Board Member Aaron Bifaro.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest annual public relations and fund raising drive for Special Olympics in the world. In New York , participating chiefs, officers, sheriffs, deputies, agents and cadets from virtually every branch of federal, state, county and municipal law enforcement represent hundreds of agencies. Funds generated through LETR merchandise sales, pledges to Polar Plunges and various local fundraising events support the over 400 competitions that Special Olympics organizes for its 46,000 plus athletes. And at virtually every competition, you will see a local member of the Law Enforcement Torch Run participating in Opening Ceremonies and volunteer, coach and cheer on our athletes.
We are proud to welcome our newest Statewide Sponsor, the Knights of Columbus. “In Service to One, In Service to All;” a simple statement, yet, a powerful message! The Knights of Columbus is committed to making our community better. Since the inception of Special Olympics, the Knights of Columbus has generously supported our athletes and since 2005 has stepped up its involvement by raising dollars, participating in local games and events and helping to bring color and passion to our Opening Ceremonies.

Premiere Sponsors
Since 2003, Bresnan Communications, a leading telecommunications provider in the Rocky Mountain region with headquarters in Purchase, New York, has been the lead sponsor for the Bresnan Bike Tour. Due to the underwriting support of Bresnan and its co-sponsors, 100% of the money raised from the Bike Tour (and in 2008, from the first-ever Spinathon) goes directly to Special Olympics New York-Hudson Valley Region and Westchester Arc to benefit developmentally disabled individuals. Over the past 17 years, the Bike Tour has raised over $3,535,000 for these charities with over $410,000 raised during the 2007 tour.
CSEA- New York's leading union- has been serving New Yorkers for nearly 100 years. The union, which represents more than 265,000 workers doing every kind of job in every part of the state, has long history with Special Olympics at every level of participation. About 20,000 CSEA members work in the developmental disabilities field. In 2006, CSEA President Danny Donohue was honored at Special Olympics NY “Salute to Labor Dinner”. Currently CSEA is a State Games sponsor and has actively supported the Polar Plunge events across the state.
DialAmerica, Inc has been a long-time supporter of Special Olympics raising millions of dollars over the years for the organization through magazine sales. 12% of the subscription proceeds purchased through the campaign benefit Special Olympics. When you buy your annual magazine subscriptions consider purchasing them through DialAmerica, Inc. and support a great cause.
The Federation of New York Insurance Professionals has for many years been a consistent and dedicated Statewide Sponsor of Special Olympics New York. Its members raise funds throughout the year to provide sponsorships for various games. The members also volunteer many hours of their time at these competitions, sharing the terrific experience of these games alongside the athletes, families and other volunteers. They are true friends of Special Olympics, which is their charity of choice. The Women's Insurance Network of Long Island has also provided tremendous support to that region through its annual Bachelors Auction, a highly anticipated annual event that brings additional financial support to Special Olympics
