Gifts of Stock

Donating shares of stock can result in a tax saving for donors. Shares are liquid and easily transferred, making them a preferred method of giving for some donors.

Value of the Donation
Your tax counselor can help you evaluate the dollar value of your donation. We will send you a receipt showing the name of the stock, the number of shares donated, and the date of the transaction. Stock Gifting Instructions

Gifts of Stock

•  Electronic Transfers - this is the best means of making a stock gift to Special Olympics. Simply provide your financial institution with the following instructions and have them notify Tim Easley at NBT Bank by e-mail at teasley@nbtbank.com when they send the stock:

Stock Certificates-

•  Please do not sign or complete any of the information on the back of the stock certificate(s)

•  Sign one stock power for each company being gifted (even if there are more than one certificate for the company).

Please have your bank Medallion Guarantee your signature, and do not complete any of the information on the stock power as this could delay the transfer of your stock gift.

•  Send the signed stock power(s) in a separate envelope from the stock certificate(s) and mail them to:
